What is the difference between silicone resin and inorganic silicone resin

Nov 28, 2019

Many people do not know about silicone resins and inorganic silicone resins, so before using or purchasing silicone resins, you must have a certain understanding. So what is the difference between silicone resin and inorganic silicone resin? Next, silicone resin manufacturers will introduce you to this knowledge, let's take a look.

Organic silicon: Chemically refers to compounds that contain Si-C bonds and at least one organic group is directly connected to a silicon atom. As a basic material, organic silicon materials are widely used in construction, electronics, textile, light industry, chemical industry and other fields. In the field of waterproof plugging, common silicone materials are: silane, silicone resin solution, silicone resin emulsion, silicone powder, silicone acrylic emulsion, silicone sealant, etc. The common feature of these materials is that they all have excellent hydrophobic properties. That is to say, the "Lotus Leaf Effect" will be used by all manufacturers for demonstration. Particularly confusing with inorganic silicon is what we usually call silicone waterproofing agents. That is, sodium methyl silicate or potassium methyl silicate.

Inorganic silicon: Usually refers to a water-proofing agent compounded with sodium silicate, potassium silicate, lithium silicate, etc. as the main agent and adding some auxiliary agents. In the field of waterproof plugging, common inorganic silicon materials are: permanent condensate, water-permeable crystalline waterproof material, water glass, etc. Its waterproof mechanism is usually self-dehydration or the formation of crystals in the capillary pores of the concrete to block the channel, thereby improving the compactness, strength, and impermeability of the concrete.
